Our Story

The Hong Kong Academy of General Dental Practice (HKAGDP) was established by esteemed members of Hong Kong’s medical community, guided by the principles of the Closer Economic Partnership Arrangement (CEPA) as supported by the Central People’s Government and the Hong Kong SAR Government.

Through strategic collaborations with leading medical schools and healthcare institutions, the HKAGDP provides a dynamic platform that promotes meaningful communication, professional development, and sustainable advancement in general dentistry and dental research across Hong Kong, Macau, mainland China, and internationally.

The Academy is committed to elevating dental education, enhancing oral healthcare standards, and contributing to the long-term well-being and prosperity of the communities it serves.

  • Enhance the skills and professional expertise of dental practitioners.

  • Promote the training of general dental practitioners to meet modern healthcare needs.

  • Advocate for lifelong learning and continuing education in general dentistry to better serve society.

Advance dental research by fostering studies in innovative treatment methods, technological integration, oral-systemic health links, and translational research that bridges scientific discoveries and clinical applications.

Our Goal

The Hong Kong Academy of General Dental Practice (HKAGDP)'s major goal is to enhance general practitioners' continuing education while simultaneously promoting the growth of other medical areas. The academy has created solid and strong collaborations with prestigious medical institutes and universities in China, the United Kingdom, Australia, and other nations. Charitable Medical and Educational Activities in Mainland China

Mainland China is home to a vast and diverse landscape that includes many mountainous and agricultural regions. These areas feature unique local characteristics and development needs, creating opportunities for meaningful community support, especially in healthcare and education.

The Hong Kong Academy of General Dental Practice has long been dedicated to charitable service in these regions. We launched the "A Wholehearted Mission: Medical and Educational Alleviation in Mainland Mountainous Regions" campaign, a series of philanthropic initiatives designed to enhance healthcare access and educational resources for local communities. Over the years, our outreach has extended to numerous counties and cities—including Qingyuan, Shaoguan, Heyuan, Zhaoqing, Huizhou, and Meizhou in Guangdong Province—providing care and encouragement to children and residents.

Through these activities, we strive to bring warmth, strengthen healthcare and education, and support the continued growth and well-being of communities across rural China.
